One of the most powerful moments I had in Israel. I was with @thetravelingclatt touring the Golan Heights when we bumped into this beautiful family. A mother selling fruits and coffee by an abandoned military building now tourist site. Realizing she was Syrian and I’m Syrian we bonded over Damascus. Her son then gave me a tour of the building, I tried to give a few words of encouragement. They were sweet and nice people and looking back now, I hope they are doing well. I hope the son is on his way to a successful future. Oh how I miss @stateofisrael

Jewish Museum Opens in Baghdad to Record Lost Community. The Iraqi Jewish Museum opened today for the first time in the center of the capital Baghdad. It is housed in a building that formerly served as the Jewish school "Shamash" on Al-Rashid Street. The building was renovated specifically for this purpose. The museum displays documents, items of clothing, holy books, ritual objects, and videos from the life of the community in the twentieth century. On its first day, the museum was visited by a thousand visitors—most of them non-Jews. The establishment and renovation were carried out by the small Jewish community in Iraq, which is also the owner of the building.

We are forever grateful to our pioneers, elders, and leaders who built the Village of Peace here in Dimona, Israel. They were bold enough to take our destiny into their hands and make a way where there seemed to be no way. They used every challenge as a springboard to create, produce, and build something lasting for the generations to come. Everything that we have today stands on their vision, sacrifice, and determination. Throwback to one of the times I hosted my brother @thetravelingclatt in the village.
