Some days remind us that God's plans are always greater than our own. On our journey to visit an IDF base near Hebron, the Lord led us to two unforgettable encounters in the heart of Judea and Samaria. Our first stop was the community of Telem, where we visited an ancient wine press discovered just 3 years ago. After it was carefully cleaned and restored, grapevines began growing once again — from seeds that had lain dormant beneath the soil for ages. One resident shared a thought we'll never forget: "The seeds were waiting for us to come back." Those words beautifully echo God's promises of restoration throughout Scripture. In Jeremiah 32:36–44, the Lord promises to gather His people back to the land, restore them, and once again enable them to buy fields and cultivate vineyards. Zechariah 8:5, 12 likewise paints a picture of restored cities, fruitful vineyards, and God's abundant blessing. This remarkable story is a powerful symbol of restoration, it points us back to the faithfulness of God and His enduring promises. Earlier that day, as we were looking for a coffee shop in Telem a wonderful family welcomed us into their home, served us coffee on their deck overlooking the breathtaking hills of Judea and Samaria, and treated us like lifelong friends. Before long, some of our team were playing football with the children beneath the trees. We set out hoping to encourage others, but we were the ones who left deeply encouraged. The kindness, generosity, and hospitality we experienced were a beautiful reminder that the strongest friendships are often forged in the most unexpected moments. Thank you for joining us as we share these stories of faith, friendship, and God's faithfulness in the Land of Israel. "Fields shall be bought in this land... for I will restore their fortunes, declares the Lord." — Jeremiah 32:43–44 We at Christian Friends of Israel believe that a friend loves at all times and a brother is born to help in a time of adversity (Proverbs 17:17).
