Transcript [00:00] Shalom, dear friends, and welcome to [00:02] Israel. Today we study Torah portion [00:05] Vayetchanan. [00:07] What does it mean? We're going to see [00:09] that in the word of God. And this Torah [00:12] portion is [00:13] full of glory of God, voices of the [00:16] Lord, commandments, deep lessons, [00:20] prophetic warnings. I mean, this Torah [00:23] portion is just great. I can tell you [00:26] every chapter of this Torah portion can [00:28] be separate program. Uh it's amazing, [00:31] but there is so much richness of the [00:34] word of God and blessing that God [00:36] releases to our life, and it works to in [00:39] our lives even today. So, I know you're [00:42] going to be blessed. So, let's begin our [00:45] studies. [00:47] Today we study Torah portion number 43 [00:51] called Ekev Chanan. It's Deuteronomy [00:54] chapter 3 from verse 27 all the way to [00:58] chapter 7 verse 11. [01:00] Uh and Yitchanan, what does it mean? [01:03] Yitchanan uh probably sounds familiar [01:06] because there is Hebrew name Chanan, [01:10] which is mean uh [01:11] a Chanina, gave them mercy, forgave [01:14] them. But actually, Yitchanan is mean he [01:16] plead the Lord. And I can tell you even [01:19] in modern Hebrew, when children ask [01:22] parents for favor, really ask for favor, [01:25] they say, "I need Yitchanan. I really [01:27] ask you. I beg you." And that's the word [01:30] that I beg you is one of the [01:32] translations. And that's the Torah [01:35] portion. And what it is about, it's [01:37] about very historical and important [01:40] conversation of Moses. When he uh plead [01:44] the Lord, Yitchanan, plead the Lord and [01:46] asking him, "Lord, God, [01:50] Jehovah, Yahweh, can you give me favor? [01:53] Can I come to the promised land? Can I [01:55] see promised land? Can you change your [01:57] mind? Because uh God already told to [02:00] Moses, you're not going to enter the [02:03] promised land. You're going to see that, [02:05] you're going to experience, and prepare [02:08] the nation to walk into the promised [02:10] land, but you will stay. You're not [02:13] going to cross over. That's the message. [02:15] But Moses have seen mercy of God so many [02:19] times and many ways. So he he hopes [02:22] maybe this time God also will show him [02:25] mercy. But in this case, God's answer is [02:28] very clear. But let's read how it goes, [02:31] how word of God revealed it, because [02:35] even in the conversation of Moses with [02:38] God, there's a powerful lessons and very [02:41] strong points. So verse 24, it says [02:44] here, [02:45] Adonai Yahweh, or all Lord God, you have [02:50] begun to show your servant your [02:53] greatness and your mighty hand. Ed [02:57] Gedulotcha [02:58] >> [sighs] [02:58] >> and Yadcha Chazaka, that's the Hebrew [03:00] words. So, he said, "Lord, [03:03] you've been teaching me and showing me [03:05] your greatness." [03:07] Yes, God is great. In Hebrew we say [03:10] Elohim Gadol, God is great. And and [03:14] mighty hand of God. And he said, "Lord, [03:16] you started to reveal me that. And I've [03:19] seen, I have witnessed this. We have [03:21] seen your power, your glory, your [03:23] goodness, and your greatness." [03:26] Hallelujah, that's the conversation. And [03:28] then it says, "For what God is there in [03:30] heavens or on the earth who can do [03:33] anything like your works and your mighty [03:36] deeds?" And I want to remind you, people [03:39] of Israel went out of the great and [03:42] powerful nation of Egypt. Until today [03:45] people come into Egypt and walk around [03:47] pyramids that was built by Egyptians. [03:51] And they see greatness of pyramids, and [03:54] greatness of all this ancient [03:56] architecture. People still scratching [03:58] their hands and trying to guess how on [04:01] the earth they have built that. And also [04:04] they see all the descriptions and the [04:07] pictures pictures of gods and pharaohs [04:11] and big people they look like giants on [04:14] the walls of the temples. It was a great [04:17] nation and they claim that their god is [04:20] a great god and they have all these gods [04:23] and all these stories and all the [04:25] magicians who actually perform [04:27] supernatural deeds. That was the Egypt [04:30] Egypt, but when Jehovah God who created [04:35] earth and heaven, our God, our Lord, [04:38] hallelujah, when he visited Moses and [04:41] his people, Moses got his lesson and [04:44] says there is no one like you. And with [04:46] all the greatness of Egypt, with all the [04:50] greatness of Egyptians God they bragging [04:53] of and they telling about our God is [04:56] greater. And they're talking about [04:58] greatness of our God, Elohim Gadol, God [05:02] is great and your hand is powerful. So, [05:06] that's the conversation. [05:08] God is talking to Moses talking to God [05:10] and then telling God, yes, we got it. We [05:13] learn, we have seen, we have experienced [05:15] that there is no other gods like you, [05:17] Lord, by far. You're not just stronger [05:21] than other gods. You are the mighty God [05:23] who created all the earth. And we let [05:26] other nations nations worship gods [05:30] and the New Testament reveals and and [05:31] says worship demons. And the Old [05:34] Testament, even in Psalms, it says all [05:37] the gods of the nations they are demons [05:39] and they are spirits, but our God is the [05:42] only God. Praise the Lord. So, it says [05:45] may yeah, nations can have gods and [05:47] powers and the manifestations, some [05:51] supernatural movements, but there is [05:53] nothing like God who created it all." [05:56] And it says, "Every knee and there every [05:58] nation and every [06:00] every nation will bow down and every [06:02] tongue will confess. Every person will [06:04] confess glory of God because God is our [06:07] God is God is almighty. Praise God." But [06:10] let's continue to read the conversations [06:12] and Moses pray. So, he said, "I said, I [06:15] need palal. I pray. Let me cross over to [06:19] see the good land beyond the Jordan, [06:22] those pleasant mountains and Lebanon." [06:25] So, he's on the other side. He's on the [06:27] mountain. He see already wonderful land, [06:30] beautiful and green land. [06:33] Lots of heights all the way to Lebanon [06:35] because they've been coming closer to [06:36] the northern part of Israel. He see [06:38] that. And he's talking to God. "I pray." [06:41] Anemic palal. But 20:26, "But the Lord [06:44] was angry with me on your account." [06:48] That's the message to people of Israel. [06:50] He was angry with me and because of you. [06:53] And would not listen to me. So, the Lord [06:56] said to me, "Enough of that. Speak no [06:59] more to me of this matter." That's it. [07:03] That's the God answer. Yes, God is [07:05] grateful. He is merciful. He's full of [07:07] mercy. And many times when he was about [07:10] to judge people of Israel for their [07:12] rebellious attitude, but Moses prayed. [07:16] God showed the mercy. So, he he was [07:18] hoping maybe once again it will happen [07:21] with you, but here God said, "No, that's [07:24] my plan for you, Moses. Just receive it. [07:28] Work with my plan. That's it." So, God [07:31] have created Moses and he gave an [07:33] amazing great plan for him, but he said, [07:37] "Uh you cannot see everything, but [07:39] you're going to see my glory, my [07:41] goodness." And same with us. You know, [07:43] all of us, we want to be greatest men on [07:45] the earth. We want to be greatest men of [07:48] God. We want to do the most. Praise the [07:51] Lord, and it's wonderful desire. Yet, [07:54] for every one of us, each of us, for you [07:57] and me, we have certain plan of God. We [07:59] have certain path to walk through. And [08:02] power is in not by human measures [08:05] greatness, but the power in his call and [08:09] our respond to his call, our obedience [08:12] to him. And yes, by again, by the human [08:16] measures, we can be [08:18] greater, we can be greater, but God sees [08:21] everything differently. He let us to [08:24] walk certain ways and certain path. And [08:27] he all he want us to be faithful to the [08:29] call of God for your life, for my life, [08:33] and we shall be satisfied with what he [08:36] have prepared for us. And it's remind me [08:39] when Moses pray and ask God, "God, maybe [08:41] you will change my mind your mind." It's [08:43] remind me prayer of soul in the New [08:45] Testament when he said, [08:47] "Angel of Satan was disturbing me and [08:50] attacking me." So, he said, "I spoke to [08:52] the Lord three times." And it's not like [08:55] it's not just he prayed three times to [08:57] the Lord. Actually, it's it seems like [08:59] Paul took his time and he was really [09:02] talking to God and he had deep [09:04] conversations. "Lord, take it out from [09:06] my life. I don't want it." But God said, [09:10] "Paul, [09:11] my grace is sufficient. This is your [09:13] way. You need to walk this way. You will [09:17] need to face persecutions. You will need [09:19] to face demonic attacks, but you have my [09:22] grace and it is sufficient." So, dear [09:24] friends, I know grace of God was [09:26] sufficient for Moses, grace of God was [09:29] sufficient for Paul, and grace of God is [09:33] sufficient for you and me. So, let's [09:35] walk our call. Let's respond to his [09:39] words to our lives and let's rejoice in [09:42] the war. And let's continue to read all [09:44] these beautiful conversations [09:47] verse 27. [09:49] God is speaking to Moses, go up to the [09:51] top top of Pisgah and then by the way in [09:54] modern Hebrew, we say Pisgah is the top [09:56] of the mountain, but here we have the [09:58] name of the mountain top of Pisgah and [10:01] then lift your eyes toward the west west [10:04] the north the south and east [10:07] behold it with your eyes for you shall [10:10] not cross over this Jordan. So, God is [10:12] saying yes, I give you to rejoice. I [10:14] give you to see the fullness of my [10:16] fulfillment, but you going to see [10:21] you going to see my glory, you going to [10:23] see reality of my promises, but others [10:25] will will enter. So, praise the Lord [10:28] that also taken us to our mountains to [10:30] see the future glory and to see the [10:33] coming of the Lord in this period when [10:35] we read the Bible, study the Bible, see [10:38] events around us, we going to see go [10:40] glory of God coming closer and closer [10:43] and maybe some of us we will see and [10:45] maybe younger generation, I don't know, [10:47] we will see glory of God and Jesus [10:50] coming back down from heaven, but anyway [10:52] we all will see heaven, we all will see [10:56] glory of God and as we coming closer to [10:59] the end times, we going to see more and [11:01] more I unfailing of God's promises [11:05] unfailing of the biblical promises and [11:07] prophecies and we going to see his glory [11:10] more and more. Praise God. [11:13] And then it says, but you have work to [11:14] do before you depart, you have work to [11:16] do, but command Joshua to encourage him [11:19] and strengthen him. And that's his God [11:21] said, speak to next generation. So, I [11:23] want to ask [11:24] favor for older people. Uh well [11:28] we called by God to speak to young [11:31] generation and to empower them. And if [11:35] the young listeners remember, they will [11:37] come you will need to do that, but right [11:39] now be open for all the ones who's [11:42] passing on that's word, [11:44] experiences, prophetic words, lessons [11:47] learned in his kingdom because that's [11:49] the glory of God in our lives. And it [11:51] says, "Come on, Joshua." And And it [11:53] says, "Encourage him." Okay, not just [11:56] command, but encourage him, strengthen [11:58] him. [12:00] Keep him and help him to be strong. [12:03] Strengthen him, encourage him for he [12:06] shall go over before his people. And he [12:09] shall cause them to inherit the land [12:11] which you will see. Amen. So, it's [12:14] beautiful to see how next generation [12:16] being prepared and encouraged and built [12:18] up. And that's our role to speak and to [12:21] work with next generation. And for next [12:24] generation to receive the blessings of [12:27] the Lord. Hallelujah. To receive of the [12:30] empowerment, [12:32] prayers, wisdom, and go on to the God's [12:36] journey to take your generation, our [12:39] generation to the promised land. [12:41] Hallelujah. And what is our promised [12:43] land? Surely, the final day of Jesus, [12:45] the heaven is promised land, but also [12:47] promises of God on this earth. The [12:50] revival, the salvation, manifestation of [12:53] God's glory. All of that is so beautiful [12:56] and so important. Amen. So, key word [12:59] for this part for this portion is [13:01] actually [13:03] shamayim [13:04] a heaven, shamayim. [13:07] And it's so beautiful word of the Lord [13:10] shamayim. And second word, [13:12] when God speaks to Moses, look at [13:14] shamayim, look at a heavens, and look at [13:17] the erets, the earth around you. So, and [13:20] that's the word second word, it's erets. [13:23] Erets and we say today often erets [13:25] Israel. [13:27] So, Eretz is the land, land around us. [13:31] Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. So, uh [13:34] the lesson of this chapter is obedience [13:37] to God. It's important to obey God, to [13:40] know all his goodness, his grace, his [13:42] glory, but also to to understand what is [13:45] our way, what is our path, what is our [13:48] what he his purposes for our life, to [13:51] receive it, and not compete with others, [13:54] not complain to others, not to complain [13:57] why this did more and did this less, but [13:59] be satisfied with his call in our life, [14:02] because there is enough of wisdom and [14:05] glory and joy of the Lord. It's so [14:07] beautiful. And now we're going to the [14:09] next chapter. Chapter 4, we see how [14:13] Moses is talking to people of Israel, [14:16] going through details and very deep [14:18] conversation, and I have no time to read [14:21] verse by verse, but this is one of the [14:24] chapters, actually, that really worth to [14:26] read verse by verse, meditate, think, [14:29] underline words, pray about it, because [14:33] there is powerful and wonderful [14:36] just beautiful wisdom of God. But [14:38] basically, speaking to people of Israel [14:41] not to forget what the Lord has done. [14:44] Always [14:45] remember [14:47] and be faithful. Remember and be [14:49] faithful. Praise the Lord. And I'm going [14:51] to read few key [14:53] uh verses and few key Hebrew words, [14:55] because it is deep. So, uh verse one, [15:00] God is speaking that his word is life. [15:03] And the way this chapter described, that [15:06] really Moses really showing people of [15:08] Israel what he have learned and [15:10] experienced. And he know people of [15:13] Israel they were together with him. They [15:15] have seen God's glory, but still he's [15:17] sharing his heart, and he was inspired [15:20] by the Holy Spirit. Obviously, you can [15:22] read and see the presence of the Lord [15:25] and work of the Holy Spirit on him. And [15:28] that's why he's speaking what he's [15:29] saying and writing down and it's [15:31] becoming word of God for us because it's [15:33] not just Moses, but the Holy Spirit [15:36] speaks through his heart. And he's [15:39] saying basically, the word of God is [15:41] alive. It's alive. It gives life. It's [15:45] gives satisfaction. It's give real gives [15:48] a real life [15:50] on this earth and also eternal life. [15:54] Praise the Lord. So, he's telling here [15:57] in verse two, [15:58] and that's why it's important to keep [16:01] commandments as they are, not to add [16:03] nothing to the commandments I gave you [16:06] and not to take away anything. And yes, [16:09] it's remind us last chapter of Book of [16:11] Revelation when God says, "This is the [16:13] word of the Lord and what you have seen [16:16] and you receive, keep it. Don't change [16:18] it. Don't adjust it. Don't take a word [16:22] away and don't add anything to that." [16:25] And so, it's important part. We see that [16:27] first time actually in Deuteronomy in [16:29] this chapter in chapter 4 verse 2 and [16:32] then we see it in the last book of the [16:34] Bible in Book of Revelation. [16:36] Yes, so we need to keep word as it is. [16:39] Not to take away anything and not to add [16:42] to the word of God anything, but just to [16:45] keep it because there is life, there is [16:47] power and then let's read. You shall not [16:49] add to the word which I command you nor [16:52] take from it that you may keep the [16:54] commandments of the Lord your God which [16:56] have which I command you. Okay, very [17:00] powerful and very very clear. My verse [17:03] four I want to see in Hebrew and it says [17:05] here, "V'atem baktem." [17:07] But in English it goes just a little bit [17:09] different way because of language [17:11] structure. But in Hebrew again, it [17:13] starts with "V'atem" [17:16] "ed bakem" "ed bakem". [17:18] So, let me see what let's read it in [17:20] English and let's talk. [17:22] But, you who held fast to the Lord your [17:25] God are alive today, every one of you. [17:30] So, it says, [17:31] you who held fast to the Lord, but in [17:34] Hebrew it says, but headbackim. What [17:37] does it mean? It says, you've been like [17:39] glued to the Lord. It's interesting, but [17:42] that's the word glued to the Lord. What [17:44] God said to [17:46] about people, about couples, about [17:48] marriage, he said, [17:50] in the back [17:52] ish beishto. [17:53] And and he using word that we using in [17:55] modern Hebrew like put a glue. [17:59] It's amazing, but God used the word [18:01] glue here. So, it's like we're not just [18:04] holding up on the Lord, we're not just [18:06] keeping his word, but it's really like [18:08] we are touched ourselves to the Lord and [18:11] become one. And that's what Jesus later [18:14] revealed, who is the Lord's, who is [18:18] receiving his covenant and he drinking [18:21] his blood and eating his flesh, becoming [18:23] becoming one with him. And man and wife [18:26] after marriage, they becoming one flesh, [18:29] and that's the word God using here. [18:32] You not just held fast, but actually [18:34] says you become one. You become one like [18:38] again, word glued to God the Lord, and [18:41] he says, and that's the life. That's [18:44] what produced life. Verse six, God [18:47] speaks about wisdom in the word of God. [18:52] And it's powerful and amazing says here, [18:54] therefore, be careful to observe them. [18:57] It speaks about word of God, observe all [18:59] the commandments them. For this is your [19:01] wisdom and your understanding in the [19:05] light of the people who will hear of [19:08] those statutes. So, God is saying, word [19:10] of God is our wisdom and is our [19:14] understanding. Praise God. So, what word [19:17] of God is producing in us? He make us [19:20] wise. When we dwell in the word, when we [19:23] read word of God, when we let the word [19:26] of God dwell in us daily [19:30] and remain in our life, something [19:32] miraculous happens in our life. We're [19:35] going to see his wisdom. We're going to [19:38] see the word of truth with the eyes of [19:40] creator who know all the laws of this [19:44] world, all the laws of nature, all the [19:47] laws of physics and and and chemistry. [19:50] He is the God who create everything and [19:53] his word give us wisdom and give us [19:56] understanding to really understand even [20:00] deeper things, to understand everything. [20:02] And that's why the book of James says, [20:04] "Who feel is lacking wisdom?" That's [20:06] very simple. Pray to the Lord. Don't [20:09] seek wisdom in the ways of the way of [20:12] the of this world, but go to the Lord. [20:14] He is the source of all wisdom. And by [20:16] the way, he can depart certain your life [20:19] and can unload unload in your life, in [20:22] my life supernatural, divine wisdom. [20:25] Hallelujah. So, that's a reminder. This [20:28] word is precious and glorious and wise [20:32] and can give wisdom even to simple [20:34] people. Praise the Lord. That's the [20:36] power of word of God. And then says and [20:38] say, "Surely this great nation is a wise [20:42] and understanding people." Hallelujah. [20:45] You see, that's what marked Jewish [20:48] people until today. People know that [20:50] Jewish people are wise. Nations know [20:53] Jewish people are wise. Uh you can check [20:57] all the influence of Jewish people on [20:59] the humanity. It is great. It is [21:01] wonderful. [21:03] Uh statistically, I mean, it's just [21:05] incredible. There is no [21:06] other nation like Israel, but why is [21:08] that? Not because they're a superior [21:10] nation, no, but because our ancestors [21:14] choose the word of God, choose the [21:16] Torah, choose to serve the Lord, and [21:18] even with all the history of failures [21:21] and mistakes, but still [21:24] the word of the Lord, wisdom of God, [21:27] marked Jewish people. And now, what [21:30] about Christians? It's the same. That's [21:32] our heritage. So, wisdom of God belong [21:35] to every Christian. And as you see the [21:38] prosperity, the blessing, the hand of [21:39] the Lord over Jewish people, [21:41] in Jesus, we see even more because all [21:44] the promises, says New Testament, all [21:46] the promises of God in Jesus, they're [21:49] yes and amen. So, just encouragement and [21:52] reminder, I feel anointing when I speak [21:54] about that because we should remember we [21:56] are blessed people, not only Israel, but [21:59] everyone who call upon the name of the [22:01] Lord. Jesus is a blessed. Praise the [22:04] Lord. Hallelujah. So, James 3:6-17 [22:07] actually says, "If anyone needs wisdom, [22:10] ask Lord his wisdom." Verse seven, [22:14] "For what great nation is there that [22:16] that has God so near to eat?" What a [22:19] powerful statement. Uh [22:21] yes, we are blessed nation, and God is [22:24] near to people of Israel. [22:26] God is near to us, and it's even more. [22:29] In the New Testament, he is in us. It [22:31] says, "As the Lord our God is to us." [22:35] Praise the Lord. For whatever reason, we [22:38] may call upon him. In Hebrew, we call [22:41] Karano Elav. It means we can turn to him [22:45] and pray to him for anything. Any [22:48] situation happens in our life, we have [22:50] right to come to him. Not only [22:51] spiritual, not only life-changing most [22:53] important deals, but even in our daily [22:56] walks with him, we can raise our voice, [22:59] and he's is to us, to our loud prayers [23:03] and to our silent prayers. He hears, he [23:06] responds because he is with us. And [23:09] then, uh once again, I have to skip [23:11] because of time, but uh chapter verse by [23:14] verse giving us an amazing instructions [23:17] and releasing power and wisdom of the [23:19] Lord. But verse 9 says about passing [23:22] Torah, all the God's commandments to our [23:25] sons and sons of sons, says Hebrew or [23:28] grandsons, we say today. And yes, Ben [23:30] Ha, [23:31] uh but your sons and sons of your sons. [23:34] Verse 11 to 20, [23:36] uh actually, God is speaking here. You [23:39] have a You have a heard my voice from [23:42] the fire. So, Moses is going through the [23:44] history and he's repeating all the [23:46] events. People of Israel were part of [23:48] these events. They remember, they have [23:50] seen, but he's preaching to them and [23:52] saying, "Remember, he spoke to us. [23:54] Remember, we have seen fire. Remember, [23:56] we heard the we have heard heavenly [23:58] shofar." Or we have heard angels. We [24:03] have heard all of that. We have heard [24:05] voice of God. So, he's saying, "There's [24:07] no other nations as us who have heard [24:09] word of God." And today, we have heard [24:12] words of Jesus, Yeshua. He speaks to our [24:15] life. He speaks loud with his great [24:18] voice, like it is written in the book of [24:20] Revelation, but also he speaks silently, [24:23] quietly, but very powerful in our inner [24:26] being, to our spirit, and it's just [24:28] amazing. So, I let me underline couple [24:30] verses more. Verse 12 says here, "And [24:33] the Lord spoke to you out of the midst [24:36] of the fire." Another reminder, yes, he [24:39] spoke to you. You have heard his voice [24:42] from the fire. You heard the sound of [24:44] the words. [24:46] Yes, telling them, "Yes, we have we have [24:48] heard heavenly sound, but so no form. [24:53] You only heard his voice." And then he [24:55] give instructions, don't create any [24:58] images. Don't create any idols. Even to [25:02] remember what you have experienced. [25:04] Remember God didn't show you any images. [25:06] You didn't see anything. You have heard, [25:08] you experienced, you've seen the glory, [25:10] but not the images. So never do any [25:13] images, but just worship God who sits in [25:17] heaven and worship him because he is on [25:20] his throne. He want us to have straight [25:23] connection. Not through different [25:25] sculptures, idols, pictures, but just [25:28] with God himself. Praise the Lord. [25:31] That's very powerful. So verse 29 says [25:34] here, [25:35] uh God is [25:37] speaking to to people of Israel but he's [25:38] saying he pre preceed the failures. He [25:42] preceed the different areas on [25:44] generations and he said, yes, and many [25:46] of you you will fail. You won't keep the [25:48] covenants and you will fail. But he said [25:52] verse 29, but from there you will seek [25:55] the Lord your God from your failure. [25:58] When you will seek the Lord your God and [26:00] you will find him if you seek him with [26:03] all your heart and with all your soul. [26:05] So God is speaking about his mercy, his [26:08] grace and he said even if you fail here. [26:10] It's amazing but Moses prophetically as [26:13] a prophet of God he [26:15] he saw the failure of Israel. He [26:17] understood Israel won't be faithful [26:19] always. But he said, come back, return [26:23] because God is full of mercy. Always [26:25] will receive you and restore you. And [26:28] once again says you will seek him and [26:30] you will find him. Praise God. And it's [26:32] work for us today as well. Yes, no one [26:35] is perfect, but our God is perfect. And [26:38] whatever happens in our life, there's [26:40] always restoration. There was always [26:42] forgiveness. We need to come back and he [26:44] will receive us, restore us. Hallelujah. [26:48] And he will continue to use us. [26:50] It's a powerful mercy of our Lord, but [26:53] always will find him. And uh, [26:56] the key is to do that from all our heart [27:00] and from all our soul. Praise the Lord. [27:03] That's the keywords, our hearts and our [27:06] soul. So, let's continue to read and [27:08] we're going to chapter five, Deuteronomy [27:10] chapter five. Uh, [27:12] so we see again Moses speaking about [27:16] covenant. So, the key Hebrew words in [27:18] this in chapter five, it's brit. Brit is [27:23] covenant. And the second keyword it's [27:26] mitzvah. It's commandment, mitzvah. And [27:30] these words we use a lot. I even central [27:33] street in my city called B'nai Brit, [27:36] sons of the covenant. So, brit is the [27:39] covenant and in Hebrew uh, New Testament [27:42] actually we called Brit Chadasha. Uh, [27:46] the covenant of uh, the [27:50] new covenant, that's the way, but [27:51] literally would be covenant of the new [27:53] or new covenant. So, brit is the [27:55] covenant and mitzvah is the commandment. [27:59] Important words. And uh, let's see [28:03] what God is teaching us in chapter five. [28:06] All this chapter Moses, follow Holy [28:09] Spirit, speaking to people of Israel and [28:12] reminding them the reality of God. Say, [28:15] he is real. He is real. He is real. You [28:18] know, it's like New Testament says, he [28:19] is risen. He is really sits on heaven. [28:22] He is real God. Let's continue to serve [28:24] him. And that's the message. And it [28:27] says, "And you have seen his glory." [28:29] Well, they have seen his glory [28:31] physically with with their own eyes. [28:34] It's amazing, but they've seen his [28:36] glory. So, actually the point here guys, [28:39] it's not religion. It's not human wisdom [28:43] or human made ways, a religion teaching, [28:48] uh, you know, there is lots of good [28:49] things in the human wisdom. But I said, [28:52] it's not come It's not from people. It's [28:54] not just new religion. It's not any [28:56] religion. We talking about God himself. [29:00] There is religions and there is good [29:01] side of the religions, but there is [29:03] nothing like it's kingdom and God [29:05] himself. For all this chapter, Moses, by [29:08] the power of the Holy Spirit, just [29:10] installing into the into the his people, [29:12] into the people of Israel, the message [29:15] God is real. God is real. Remember, he [29:18] is real. Talk to him. Fellowship with [29:21] him. It's not religion. Don't look at [29:23] other nations. Don't look at other [29:25] religions. Don't search in other places [29:27] and other sources. There is nothing like [29:31] our God. And I love it. It's like he's [29:33] as like a Holy Spirit taking a seal and [29:35] sealing his truth, right? [29:38] So, guys, brothers, sisters, it's [29:40] amazing to understand and to think we [29:43] don't practice in religion. Praise the [29:44] Lord. And yes, people call Christianity [29:48] People call our faith religion, but it's [29:50] not. It's real and life fellowship with [29:55] living God, the creator of heavens and [29:57] earth, who sent his son Messiah for us [30:01] to redeem us, to forgive us. And through [30:04] his Mashiach Messiah that Torah speaks [30:06] about, actually we redeemed and [30:10] God is in us and eternity is already in [30:13] our hearts. Hallelujah. We will live [30:16] forever with him. The body will die. The [30:19] body will resurrect, but we going to [30:22] live with him forever. And that's the [30:24] powerful message of chapter 5. God is [30:27] real. Let's continue to read verse [30:29] chapter 6. And chapter 6, that's the [30:34] chapter of commandments. When Moses [30:36] repeatedly [30:37] sharing about all 10 commandments and [30:39] all statutes of the Lord. It's powerful. [30:42] But let me read the most important for [30:45] Jewish people proclamation and it is in [30:47] Hebrew. So I'm going to read to you [30:49] verse uh chapter 6 verse 4. Says here, [30:54] Sh'ma Yisrael. And that's what we say [30:57] and I would advise you to remember [30:59] because uh every commandment starts with [31:02] Sh'ma Yisrael. And we always see it Hear [31:05] O Israel. We don't just say first [31:07] commandment, but first of all, the Sh'ma [31:10] Yisrael always been proclaimed. Hear O [31:13] Israel. Sh'ma Yisrael Israel. Sh'ma [31:16] Yisrael Yahweh Eloheinu Yahweh [31:21] Echad. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. [31:24] That's the message. Hear O Israel, the [31:27] Lord our God, and the Lord is one. [31:31] Praise the Lord. Echad. Hallelujah. So [31:33] there's no Lord like him. He's the only [31:35] one. So hear O Israel. This message [31:38] shall always sound. This message shall [31:41] always proclaim. And when in Israel we [31:43] hear Sh'ma Yisrael, Hear O Israel, we [31:47] know what's going to be about. We know [31:49] what is it. And we right away thinking [31:51] about all 10 commandments. We right away [31:53] right away we know that's the very [31:55] important most important call of God. [31:57] Sh'ma Yisrael. So I will advise you [32:00] learn by heart this word Sh'ma Yisrael [32:04] Yahweh Eloheinu Yahweh Echad. And in [32:06] modern Hebrew, we don't use word of God [32:08] the Father. Yahweh has revealed to us, [32:11] but we say Sh'ma Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu [32:14] Adonai Echad. Praise the Lord. Verse 5, [32:19] You shall love the Lord your God with [32:21] all your heart, with all your soul, and [32:24] with all your strength. It's amazing, [32:26] but Yeshua, he confirmed that and he [32:29] preached this word. He said V'ahavta et [32:34] Gad and V'ahavta et [32:37] Re'echa or your your people around you. [32:40] Praise the Lord. So, these are the [32:42] commandments. And then [32:44] uh [32:45] we see how important it is uh to go [32:48] through all the [32:49] uh commandments of the Lord uh one by [32:52] one uh and I'm going to skip it today. [32:54] We're not going to study details, but [32:57] he's speaking about after that, after [32:59] giving commandments, he's speaking about [33:00] importance to teach your children. [33:03] Praise the Lord. And verse 7 actually [33:05] goes and tell us, "You shall teach them [33:08] diligently [33:09] to your children." It's amazing, but [33:11] right after 10 commandments it says, [33:13] "Okay, it's not only for you, also for [33:15] next generation. So, take your time and [33:18] diligently diligently, sorry, diligently [33:21] teach your children." Hallelujah. So, we [33:25] have to take time for next generation. [33:27] Well, I know we live busy life and we're [33:29] always busy, but it's important to teach [33:32] our children. Then it says, is it part [33:35] of commandment? Right after commandments [33:37] it says, "Teach your children. Teach [33:38] your children." Don't let the world [33:40] world teach them, but you shall do that. [33:43] And it says, "And shall talk of them [33:46] when you sit in your house." And it's a [33:48] beautiful picture. I'm in my house, my [33:51] children next to me, we're sitting [33:52] together and studying the word. And [33:54] that's the way I did it for my children. [33:56] Now I'm going to do that and I'm [33:57] starting to do that with my [33:59] grandchildren. Hallelujah. What a [34:01] wonderful life, right? We're sitting in [34:03] the home and teaching our children. It [34:06] says beit cha. Beit cha is your house, [34:08] beit cha. Take your time in beit cha and [34:11] teach your children in the house. Sit [34:14] down. It literally says, "Sit down and [34:16] do that." Then it says, "When you walk [34:18] by the way, when you lie down, and when [34:21] you rise up." So, even when you down, [34:24] think about his word, his principles, [34:26] his teaching. When you waking up, we're [34:28] praising him and praying and speaking [34:30] about word. So, word of God just filling [34:32] our life. And verse nine very special [34:35] because here you can see why Israeli [34:38] culture keeps certain [34:41] ceremonial signs. So, verse nine says [34:45] here [34:46] "You shall write them on the door posts [34:49] of your house and your gates." And it [34:52] says, "V'chatavtam al mezuzot [34:54] u'visha'arecha." [34:55] Uh so, and u'visha'arecha. So, it says [34:57] actually write the word of God on the [35:01] posts of your house. And that's why when [35:04] you come to house of Israelites, people [35:06] of Israel, Jewish people today, [35:09] um in most of the houses in Israel, in [35:11] Israel as far as I know, in every house, [35:13] we have it even in my church, in every [35:15] house, we have certain box, certain [35:18] sign. And what is in the box? God's [35:22] commandments, the blessing written by [35:24] rabbi and prayers. As a Messianic [35:26] community, we're doing by ourselves, [35:28] we're taking word of God, uh we we we [35:31] cutting word of God, printing word of [35:33] God, praying. It's a whole ceremony. Uh [35:36] mezuzah or [35:38] uh Chanukkat Bayit, we call it the [35:40] renewal of house. Uh so, every time [35:42] people move in new apartment, new house, [35:45] it's a whole ceremony. We're taking the [35:47] commandments of God and putting them on [35:49] the walls, on the entrances because [35:52] Bible said uh put it on mezuzot and it's [35:54] become really beautiful culture. So, [35:57] that's why every time you see Jewish [35:59] home, you will see uh God word of God at [36:02] the at the side of the door. Praise the [36:04] Lord. And you will see people of Israel [36:06] coming in and out, touching it with [36:08] prayers, uh praying it, kissing it. [36:11] That's the traditions. And uh God [36:14] continue to teach his people here. And [36:16] uh he's telling again from verse 10 to [36:19] 19, [36:20] "Serve the Lord. Keep commandments. [36:24] Don't worship other gods." There is [36:26] gods, you will have temptations, people [36:28] will call you, nations will call you to [36:30] do something else, worship other gods, [36:32] but no, you have [36:34] greatest God, the only God. So, be [36:38] faithful, serve the Lord. Hallelujah. [36:41] So, we come into the end of our [36:45] teachings, Torah portion, amazing Torah [36:48] portion, amazing messages, life-changing [36:51] messages. And chapter 7 actually [36:54] revealed us call of God. And I have no [36:57] time to study that this time and it's [36:59] really worth to do another program. But [37:01] in this chapter God is saying, I have [37:03] called you people of Israel not because [37:06] you was better than others, not because [37:08] you was greater, more bigger in number [37:11] or wiser than others, but God has [37:14] revealed him the mystery of his call. He [37:16] said, I call you because I have loved [37:19] you. I choose you just because of my [37:23] love. And because of that, you're [37:25] blessed. Powerful message. It's [37:27] indescribable, hard to understand. Mercy [37:30] and grace of God works for people of [37:32] Israel and works for your life. So, why [37:35] does have God called you? Was you better [37:38] than others? Was you [37:40] Did you behave better? Were you [37:42] stronger, wiser? [37:44] And the answer will be probably [37:45] no. No one knows, it's mystery of God. [37:48] But he loved you and he called you and [37:51] he's received you and you are blessed. [37:54] And because of that, blessing of God is [37:56] growing in your life more and more, from [37:59] glory to glory. And because of that, we [38:01] called to share his glory, share his [38:03] goodness with other people. Because we [38:06] are chosen people. And this note, I'm [38:10] I'm going to finish and pray. Lord, [38:12] please reveal us the importance and [38:14] power and greatness of your call, of [38:16] your choice choice chose choice and help [38:19] us to be faithful, Lord, and to share [38:22] with the world greatness of our Lord. [38:26] Amen and amen. Blessings, dear friends.
