The fact that what this guy I [00:09] don't care about your stories that if [00:11] fish walked on the water [00:12] >> So, there you have it, Dan. He straight [00:14] up told me even if the Messiah did do [00:16] everything that he was supposed to do, [00:19] they're still not going to worship him. [00:21] So, let's look at the Bible, the Old [00:23] Testament, Professor Dan, and let's see [00:25] if we need to worship Messiah. [00:28] >> First of all, is the one from Micah the [00:30] prophet, verses 1 and 2. So, out of [00:34] Bethlehem, out of you shall come forth [00:37] to me [00:38] the one to be ruler in Israel. So, [00:40] somebody has to come out of Bethlehem. [00:42] He has to be born from Bethlehem. That's [00:45] where he starts, right? He's born in [00:47] Bethlehem. Yet, out of you shall come [00:50] forth to me, right out of Bethlehem, the [00:51] one to be ruler in Israel, great, whose [00:54] going forth are from of old, from [00:58] everlasting. [01:00] In the Hebrew, motza'otav mikedem mimei [01:04] olam. [01:06] Everlasting. [01:08] Somebody's going to be born out of [01:10] Bethlehem whose origins are from [01:13] everlasting. [01:15] Elisha, please tell me who was there in [01:19] the beginning? Who is there from [01:20] everlasting? [01:21] >> Yeshua. [01:22] >> That's the point. [01:24] God coming in the flesh. [01:27] God coming in Messiah. That is then [01:31] comes to earth in the form and of a man [01:34] coming from the line of David, the tribe [01:36] of Judah. [01:38] Whose origins are from everlasting. That [01:41] is the point. Here is another one. [01:43] Yeshayahu 9:6 For unto us a child is [01:46] born, unto us a son is given, and the [01:48] government will be upon his shoulders, [01:50] and his name will be called Wonderful [01:52] Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting [01:53] Father, Prince of Peace. [01:57] Many people can interpret it anyway, but [01:59] it's a son given to us. Some would say, [02:01] "Well, that is Hezekiah the king." Well, [02:03] mighty God, everlasting father, prince [02:05] of peace, [02:07] it doesn't really fit. [02:09] Everlasting father, you know, [02:12] you know, mighty God, these are not [02:14] titles that I would give even my wife. [02:18] Remember how the he says to you the wife [02:20] or whose feet you worship, the ground [02:22] that she's walking. No, I'm not [02:24] everlasting father, not prince of peace, [02:26] not mighty God, right? I mean, just to [02:28] answer him, you know, so so again, this [02:32] title to a son, it's not Hezekiah. [02:35] Angels, no. No, angels didn't accept [02:40] worship. We we have the example in [02:43] Joshua where the where the angels the [02:45] the the angel that was the head of God's [02:48] army appears to him. Joshua thinks it's [02:51] God, tries to worship him. He says, "No, [02:53] stop worshiping me. No, no, no, no, no." [02:55] Angels don't accept worship. [02:57] >> I want to go back to [02:58] some of the titles that you mentioned [03:01] and I mentioned them to him as well and [03:04] I told him that there's a place in [03:06] Genesis where we can clearly see God [03:10] visiting Abraham and I want to watch [03:12] this clip really quick and then I want [03:15] to hear your thoughts about it. [03:16] >> people who came to the tent who ate with [03:17] him [03:18] >> Yes. [03:18] >> and he was God. [03:19] >> Yes. No. [03:20] >> You would say that he was God. [03:21] >> Who's the he was God? Who's the he in [03:24] that? [03:24] >> One of the people that was [03:25] >> eating with him. [03:26] >> Excuse me. You're aware of the fact that [03:27] all fruits and all [03:29] that Malachim are called Elohim. I said [03:33] angels [03:34] can be described in the name of God. And [03:35] there's a place even I think I'm not [03:38] sure if it's either Yerushalayim or the [03:39] base of the image is called also is [03:41] called God. [03:43] So [03:44] So what? Okay, so it's very nice. So no [03:46] one expects no one thinks Yerushalayim [03:48] is God. [03:49] >> Yeah, so we can look at them at Genesis [03:52] 18 and and I think I think we ought to [03:55] do that. Then the Lord appeared to him, [03:58] to Abram of course, by the terebinth [04:01] tree of Mamre as he was sitting in the [04:05] tent door in the heat of the day. So he [04:08] lifted his eyes and looked and behold [04:10] three men were standing by him. And when [04:12] he saw them, he ran from the tent door [04:15] to meet them and bowed himself to the [04:17] ground. [04:18] And said, "My Lord, [04:20] if I have now found favor in your sight, [04:23] don't pass on by your servant. Please [04:25] let a little water be brought and wash [04:28] your feet and rest yourselves under the [04:30] tree." And it's pretty obvious that [04:32] those [04:33] those three accepted [04:36] worship. He sees them as three men, [04:40] but later on, I mean obviously they're [04:43] accepting this this worship. So what are [04:45] we what are we to say about that? He [04:47] looks at it and says, "No, no, no, no, [04:49] no, it's not three men, it's uh angels." [04:52] Well, he doesn't say angel. There's [04:54] nowhere in this passage, nowhere in the [04:56] Hebrew that it says malachim. It does [04:58] say then the Lord appeared to him by the [05:01] terebinth tree of Mamre. So it seems [05:03] that the Lord appears to him and he [05:05] gives worship, even sacrifices a calf [05:07] for I mean he he [05:09] kills a calf. He gives it to them. You [05:12] know, you want to call them angels. [05:14] Okay. Um I I I don't know why would [05:17] these angels all of a sudden out of the [05:19] blue um accept worship. You know, [05:22] obviously this comes in the context of [05:24] the story of of of of the child. Verse [05:27] 9, then they said to him, "Where is [05:29] Sarah your wife?" So he said, "Here in [05:31] the tent." And he said, [05:34] "I will certainly return to you [05:35] according to the time of life and behold [05:38] Sarah your wife shall have a son." Sarah [05:41] was listening in the tent door, which [05:43] was behind him. [05:44] So I will return to you. All of a [05:46] sudden, it it went to the he will return [05:49] to him. Obviously, we know that God is [05:51] the one who made this miracle of Sarah [05:54] giving birth, right? So, there is a lot [05:57] of indications here to say that now I [06:00] don't I don't see [06:02] so much angels as much as I see God God [06:04] appearing to him. Daniel that's not written in [07:00] Hebrew but in Aramaic. [07:02] And but here you go, verse 13 in Daniel [07:05] 7. I was watching in the night visions [07:07] and behold one like the son of man [07:09] coming with the clouds of heaven. He [07:11] came to the ancient of days and they [07:13] brought him near before him. [07:16] Then to him was given dominion and glory [07:19] and a kingdom. Then all peoples, [07:21] nations, and languages should serve him. [07:24] His dominion is an everlasting dominion [07:27] which shall not pass away and his [07:30] kingdom [07:31] the one which shall not be destroyed. [07:35] Absolutely. Here's another example. [07:37] There are many examples. This is in the [07:39] Tanakh. Maybe this is another one we [07:41] should go on the street and say, "Hey, [07:42] read this Old or New Testament." This is [07:45] in the Torah. This is This is Hebrew [07:47] scriptures, Daniel. [07:48] >> Yeah, and we also have another scripture [07:50] that she mentions is and it's in [07:52] Zechariah 12:10 and it says God is [07:54] pierced. [07:55] >> This This talks about again, of course, [07:58] it is absolutely a Messianic prophecy [08:01] talking about it. And let me let me read [08:03] to you Zechariah 12:10 and I will pour [08:06] on the house of David and on the [08:07] inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of [08:09] grace and supplication. Then they will [08:11] look on me whom they pierced. Yes, they [08:15] will mourn for him as one mourns for his [08:18] only son and grieve for him as one [08:21] grieves for a firstborn. [08:25] And let me just say here that that it's [08:29] very clear in this scripture that it's [08:32] uh it's it's it's God himself. I mean, [08:35] if you read the whole context, um you [08:38] know, it it talks about how the Lord [08:40] will will save the tents of Judah. And [08:43] and and and and he goes on he obviously [08:46] continuing with this House of David as [08:50] we read in verse 10. [08:52] Um so, it's it's very it's very clear. [08:55] Again, this is apocalyptic. This is This [08:58] is This is in the We would say we'd say [09:01] in the second coming of Messiah of [09:03] Mashiach because um it talks about in [09:06] that day there shall be great mourning [09:08] in Jerusalem like the mourning at Hadad [09:11] Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. You [09:13] know, and and the land shall mourn every [09:15] family by itself, the family of the [09:17] house of David by itself. And the house [09:19] of So, it also talks about here there's [09:21] there's again this partial fulfillment, [09:23] but there'll be a full fulfillment where [09:25] all of Israel will will see him. All of [09:29] Israel would recognize him as the [09:31] Messiah. And at the last he will stand [09:34] upon the earth. In the Hebrew, [09:37] "Goali chai ve acharon al afar yakum." [09:40] In in the in the English, "For I know [09:42] that my redeemer lives, and he shall [09:44] stand at last on the earth." So, again, [09:47] this is this is for me a prophecy not [09:50] just about it's it's about the [09:52] resurrection, the resurrection of our [09:54] redeemer, our Messiah, um the one who [09:58] would be the Goel of Israel surely [10:00] Israel, Goel Israel, um the redeemer of [10:03] Israel. Proverbs 30:4, "Absolutely. Who [10:07] has ascended into heaven or descended? [10:08] Who has gathered the wind in his fists? [10:11] Who has bound the waters in a garment? [10:13] Who has established all the ends of the [10:15] earth? What is his name, and what is his [10:17] son's name, if you know?" We're getting [10:20] all these pieces of the puzzle, all [10:22] these prophecies, all these scriptures [10:25] that that that that you say, "Okay, so [10:27] who is it? Who is it?" And I think it's [10:30] clear that that's Messiah. And who can [10:32] do all of that? Who could actually, um [10:35] you know, gather the winds in his fists? [10:37] I mean, it's only God. [10:40] And and that's what we're talking about. [10:41] We're talking about God incarnate, [10:42] right? God um coming in the form of [10:45] Messiah. So, all these are great great [10:47] examples. [10:48] >> Wow, there. Um this was really really [10:50] refreshing and well-needed. There's so [10:53] many things that we can learn from the [10:55] Hebrew scriptures about the deity of our [10:58] Messiah, and I'm excited to go on the [11:00] streets and share these new passages [11:03] that I've learned with my Jewish [11:04] brothers and sisters.
