Transcript [00:00] What's up, guys? It's Koshy Deals. I'm [00:01] in Israel and I'm going to comment on [00:02] the Bradland Lander situation of [00:04] harvesting olives. And it's a deeper [00:06] conversation because this is something [00:08] that consistently happens and I could [00:10] only tell you the real deal because I [00:13] have done similar things like this in my [00:15] life in other areas and it includes [00:18] being incarcerated. [00:20] Now, let's give you the context. Brad [00:22] Lander came out here right before going [00:24] into US Congress to sort of do a photo [00:27] opportunity where he went on a [00:30] Birthright trip. Whereas in Birthright [00:32] they go they see the Jerusalem wall, [00:34] they go to the markets, they go to the [00:37] desert, they go to the Dead Sea, they [00:39] climb Msada. And he went on this other [00:41] sort of birthright trip which is the [00:43] birthright of sort of pro Palestinian [00:46] activism, leftist Zionism, very very [00:49] left left. And um he comes to try to [00:55] make it seem as if he was violently [00:59] arrested. And now I say violently even [01:02] though it doesn't appear that is the [01:03] damage that's been done in the media. [01:05] And imagine coming sitting down on a bus [01:07] getting told to leave an olive harvest [01:10] which was the entire plan of getting [01:11] told to do it just so he could make the [01:15] video. And when you do that just to make [01:18] the video, what's the point? Is the [01:21] point to really help? Or is the point [01:22] for you to benefit? Who benefits more? [01:25] Him getting votes, him getting support, [01:27] him having people tweet about him, him [01:29] having more financial opportunities, or [01:31] the actual people that are there to [01:32] harvest olives. Now, it seems like he's [01:36] the one who's going to get all the [01:37] financial benefit from it. Now, partake [01:42] um something that I did as a teenager, [01:46] um when I was arrested for selling [01:48] drugs, um I sort of was hoping to be [01:51] down. And that's kind of like the want [01:53] to be down syndrome, right? So, you go [01:55] to jail and then you realize, [01:58] wow, go to jail for one night, then you [02:00] get out, then you go to jail for one [02:01] week and you get out. Then you go to [02:02] jail and you're like, "Maybe I could go [02:03] for a couple months. Maybe I get [02:05] sentenced for a year. Maybe get [02:06] sentenced to 5 years. Maybe get [02:08] sentenced. Maybe you get 15 years. [02:10] You're facing 15." Now, when you stay [02:13] facing charges now, it looks like you [02:15] are the hero, the man in the wannabe [02:18] down syndrome. And in Brad Lander [02:21] situation, he is doing the same exact [02:24] thing without drugs, without without [02:26] this. This is like sort of um the [02:28] protest qualification. [02:30] And the reason why people are frustrated [02:33] is that we know for a fact he's doing [02:35] what Roana did right earlier and and [02:38] trying to do it. But because he's [02:40] Jewish, he is I feel like and and [02:43] because he's navigated that space so [02:45] much more than Roana, he's sort of doing [02:48] it in a sense where [02:51] he understands the ins and outs of it [02:53] and understands how sensitive the topic [02:55] is at this given time, right? before he [02:58] could benefit [music] from it. [03:00] Um, if you look up Brad Lander, most of [03:04] the press right now from Al Jazzer to [03:06] see everyone's covering it and he's [03:09] literally sitting on the bus like it's a [03:10] birthright trip. Like there's no wrist [03:13] to cuffs even. Um, and this is coming [03:16] from somebody who was arrested at a [03:17] Black Lives Matter rally that never took [03:18] a picture when all white people were [03:21] just taking pictures in front of the [03:22] rally. Never did that. When I got [03:24] arrested, my brother said, "You're not [03:25] an activist. You're an idiot." [03:27] Um then I realized uh I got arrested at [03:30] a protest and that I ripped down a photo [03:32] of the Ayatollah, [03:35] right? Uh for his death. It was a vigil. [03:38] I ripped it down and I got attacked and [03:41] then I got arrested and then what [03:42] happened? Everyone wanted to take the [03:43] pictures of the arrest and you want to [03:46] post it and then everyone knows and oh [03:48] my god and you're getting all this [03:49] attention. So he is hacked. We are [03:53] living in a hacked system in general [03:55] where somebody of stature a political [03:57] thing and says okay you need to do [03:58] something. So part of their press run [04:00] now and this goes for musicians [04:04] will say I don't got nothing popping let [04:06] me sign artist against genocide I mean [04:08] that sounds good and now you're in the [04:09] cover of pitchfork and and stereo gum [04:12] and Brad Lannard same concept not a [04:15] rapper not a band US Congress. news [04:19] congressman. Is that what it is? Um, you [04:22] know, whatever any local office, but [04:24] it's a huge come-up. It's a huge come-up [04:26] because it's free media that no one [04:28] could buy, right? Now, mind you, you go [04:31] to jail, right? When I went to jail, [04:34] what happens when you're there in jail? [04:35] Do you think everyone says, "No, no, no. [04:37] You learn how to do jail better." Right? [04:38] So, this is what Brad Lander's figuring [04:40] out along the way. Got nothing against [04:43] the guy, [04:45] but I guess I kind of do, right? [04:47] what we're dealing with. It doesn't say [04:49] he's a bad character, but this is what [04:50] we're dealing with. When you go to jail, [04:52] guys, when you go to jail, this is what [04:55] happens. [04:57] You meet other people and they say, "Oh, [05:01] one year, I got three years." Someone's [05:03] got three years, I got five years. And [05:05] now all of a sudden, you're competing to [05:06] who has more time because it gives you a [05:08] certain level of stature. So when you're [05:10] in the protest world, you're doing Yeah. [05:14] Oh, I went to a protest. And you're [05:15] like, I lead the protest. Oh, you lead [05:17] the protest. How do I lead the protest? [05:18] Oh, you Oh, you got arrested at the [05:20] protest. Oh, man. You're down for the [05:22] cause. Oh, you got roasted now. You need [05:25] to go on the flotilla. Oh, You're [05:28] in the flotilla. [05:30] You're sailing across the world. Now [05:33] you're on, man. You went to the West [05:35] Bank, dog. That's crazy. Oh my god. [05:38] You're really for the cause. Now you're [05:41] Oh my god. You got arrested in the West [05:43] Bank by the ID. catching chain. They're [05:46] lying up. Do you see what I'm saying? [05:49] Oh, you got arrested for weed. Oh my [05:51] god. Oh, man. You got arrested for [05:53] selling what? Oh, that ain't that bad. [05:55] Oh, you got arrested for selling [05:56] cocaine. Oh, you had a kilo. Where'd you [05:57] get a key? Oh my god. Now you're in Now [06:00] you're in. Right. To a point where what? [06:04] Who does that help? [06:06] It helps you. And if you hit that right [06:10] point where you do just enough, you go [06:11] to jail just for you get detained. Bro, [06:14] I've been detained at the border on my [06:17] birthday. I was deported from the UK for [06:20] not having a work visa and they put me [06:22] in the same room as a bunch of other [06:24] people. They deported me back to Germany [06:27] and I could have made it into a thing. [06:29] But it's not real. [06:32] So when we start doing these things, you [06:34] have to take a step back and look what's [06:36] the purpose of Brad Lander posting this [06:42] video of him being detained. [06:46] A different way to look at it is say, [06:47] hey, it's a slow news day and this is [06:49] all that's going on in Israel. There's [06:51] no war. There's no na. Now, in other [06:55] news, the Israeli elections are coming [06:57] up. And the Israeli fault is they said, [07:00] "Uh, ban them. F them. Get out." And [07:02] that's all he wanted. Look, they're [07:04] trying to ban me. I like I want Israel [07:06] to exist. They don't want anyone. So, he [07:09] sort of crushed the right wing on that [07:11] by getting those people. And this is the [07:14] same concept for people that did the [07:15] film Naza. The film Naza exists [07:20] because [07:22] people protested. This is why Sasha [07:24] Baron Cohen has made fake protest pages [07:27] clowning protesters because they're [07:29] protesting him and now people want to [07:31] see it more. The reason why my film got [07:34] into Hollywood Reporter is not because [07:36] it's a good film is because it was [07:38] protested and cancelled. [07:41] To the people that protest, [07:44] when you stop going to protest, [07:47] you actually can figure out change. and [07:49] you stop posting the stuff cuz the real [07:52] change will not happen on this. [07:56] It won't. And that's eight minutes [07:59] talking about it all. [08:03] Shabbat.
