Transcript [00:00] 180 years ago, Irish farmers forgot [00:04] where they had planted their potatoes [00:06] and then they went hungry. Now, if I [00:09] said something like that, it would be [00:11] nasty, cruel, and worst of all, it would [00:14] be completely false. It would be a [00:16] disgusting mockery of a human tragedy in [00:19] which around a million people died and [00:22] another million were forced to flee [00:24] their homeland. No decent person would [00:26] ever say that. And that exact example [00:29] came to mind in November 2023 when for [00:32] the first time I started seriously [00:34] thinking about Ireland in the context of [00:37] Israel and our war. That month Ireland [00:41] then prime minister Leo Vadakab posted [00:44] on Twitter about a 9-year-old Irish [00:46] Israeli girl Emily Hand saying she had [00:50] been lost and was now found and returned [00:54] home. Charming, isn't it? A little girl [00:57] went out picking flowers in a field, [01:00] lost her way, and then some friendly [01:03] community cop found her and brought her [01:06] safely back to her dead. Lost and found. [01:10] Or maybe she was kidnapped at gunpoint [01:13] by terrorists carrying Kalachnikovs from [01:16] an Islamic terrorist organization. The [01:19] woman who had been like a second mother [01:21] to her was brutally murdered that same [01:23] morning. For weeks, her father sat in [01:26] front of television cameras in tears [01:28] because he had been told she was dead. [01:30] Then it turned out she was being held in [01:33] dark tunnels underground and during 50 [01:36] days of psychological terror. That's not [01:39] exactly lost and found. It takes a truly [01:43] remarkable amount of intellectual [01:46] gymnastic to turn a kidnapping into a [01:49] story about a little girl who got lost. [01:52] It is such a disgusting piece of [01:54] linguistic whitewashing that it makes [01:57] you stop and ask yourself what the hell [01:59] is wrong with these people. In those [02:01] early days, I thought to myself, okay, [02:04] fine. So, Ireland's prime minister said [02:07] something completely idiotic. Let's face [02:09] it, we've all had moments when our own [02:13] prime ministers said something stupid [02:15] and embarrassing. But over time, it [02:18] became clear this wasn't just a slip of [02:20] the tongue. It wasn't an isolated [02:22] incident. It was only the beginning. [02:25] Suddenly, more and more stories started [02:28] coming out of Ireland. One after [02:30] another, we heard reports of Israelis [02:32] and Jews in Dublin being asked to leave [02:35] public places, restaurants simply [02:38] because they dare to speak Hebrew or [02:40] wear something that visually identified [02:42] them as Jews. [02:45] >> Guys, please. [02:45] >> You can take a video all you want. [02:47] >> You're not welcome in Ireland. [02:48] >> Are not welcome in Ireland. Then there [02:50] is this. The Irish government bought a [02:53] new plane but demanded that the Israeli [02:55] camera system be taken out. Why? Because [02:59] it was made in Israel and God forbid an [03:01] Irish plane should have anything Israeli [03:04] on it. Now, here is the funny part. That [03:07] system helps pilots see in bad weather [03:09] and fog. But hey, it is Ireland. The sun [03:13] is always shining, right? Let's just [03:16] hope this plane doesn't crash because if [03:18] it does, I think we all know who they [03:21] will blame. Then there was the Irish [03:23] hysteria surrounding Eurovvision, which [03:26] was, how shall I put it? Um, delicately, [03:30] more than a little bizarre. We saw Irish [03:33] basketball and football teams refusing [03:35] to shake hands with Israel athletes, [03:38] turning their backs on them in protest [03:40] and demanding that matches be cancelled. [03:43] And that's when I realized something. [03:46] That tweet wasn't just one stupid [03:48] comment by Ireland's prime minister. It [03:50] was part of something much bigger. It [03:52] was Ireland's political and cultural [03:55] establishment so blinded by its hatred [03:58] of Israel that they couldn't even bring [04:01] themselves to say that a 9-year-old girl [04:03] had been kidnapped by terrorist. Now, I [04:06] want to make one thing clear right from [04:08] the start. I know perfectly well that [04:11] not all Irish people are like this. [04:13] There are plenty of decent, smart, [04:15] reasonable Irish people out there. Some [04:18] support Israel, other don't or simply [04:21] couldn't care less about Israel, but [04:23] they can still see that something has [04:24] gone seriously wrong in their country. I [04:27] get messages from Irish people telling [04:29] me how ashamed they are of what's [04:32] happening in Dublin and how they feel [04:34] their country had been hijacked by an [04:36] elite that's completely lost touch with [04:38] reality. So this video isn't about them. [04:42] It's about Ireland's political [04:44] establishment, its universities, its [04:46] media, and a toxic public atmosphere [04:49] where hating Israel has become a badge [04:52] of belonging. But there is also a [04:54] serious warning in this video. even if [04:56] you couldn't care less about Israel. [04:58] Because when a society becomes obsessed [05:01] with hating Jews or the Jewish state, it [05:03] often tell you more about that society [05:06] than about the people it hates. It tells [05:09] you that something is rotten inside that [05:11] society itself. But what about the [05:14] genocide, Gaza? What about Israeli [05:16] colonialism? Don't worry, we will get to [05:19] all of that. But first, let's start at [05:22] the beginning. When I first started [05:24] thinking about making this video, I [05:26] almost decided not to bother. I mean, [05:28] why spend time talking about Ireland? [05:31] Let's put things in perspective. Ireland [05:33] is a small country on the western edge [05:36] of Europe, just 5 million people. It was [05:40] never a world power. It never had any [05:43] real influence in the Middle East. We [05:46] don't exactly drink a lot of Guinness [05:49] here in Israel. And in Gaza, anyone [05:52] caught drinking one would face [05:54] imprisonment or corporal punishment. [05:57] Welcome to Islam. Anyway, Ireland [06:00] doesn't carry much strategic weight on [06:02] the world stage. But that's exactly what [06:06] makes this obsession so bizarre. If [06:09] Britain or France were constantly [06:11] obsessing over the Middle East, fine. [06:14] They have centuries of imperial history [06:16] in the region. There are reasons for [06:19] that. But when a small country with no [06:22] real connection to the Middle East [06:24] decides to turn the Israeli Palestinian [06:27] conflict into its national mission, you [06:31] have to ask yourself why. And by the [06:34] way, I'm not making this up. Ireland's [06:37] own Department of Foreign Affair says, [06:40] and I'm quoting, the Middle East peace [06:43] process remains a key foreign policy [06:45] priority for the government. So, I would [06:49] like to show the people at Ireland's [06:51] Department of Foreign Affairs something [06:54] very special. It is something I [06:57] personally love and I think they should [07:00] get to know it too. It is called a map [07:03] of the world. See all that blue? That's [07:06] the sea. And all those other colors, [07:09] those are countries. Remember the sea, [07:12] by the way. We will come back to it [07:14] later. Now, Ireland is here. Israel is [07:18] way over here. And I would like to show [07:21] you a few other places on this map that [07:24] don't seem to get quite the same [07:26] attention from Irish politicians and [07:29] activists. Yemen. Years of civil war and [07:33] regal conflict caused an estimated [07:36] 400,000 death, many of them from hunger, [07:40] diseases, and the collapse of basic [07:42] services. Sudan. The war between the [07:45] army and the RSF militias has reportedly [07:48] killed more than 150,000 people, led to [07:52] horrific ethnic massacres in Darur, and [07:54] created the largest displacement crisis [07:57] on Earth. Ethiopia, hundreds of [08:00] thousands of people with some estimates [08:03] ranging from 300 to 600,000 people [08:07] killed in fighting, starved to death, or [08:10] left without basic medical care. Syria, [08:13] more than a decade of brutal civil war, [08:16] has killed over half a million people, [08:19] forced million to flee their homes, and [08:21] seen chemical weapons used against [08:24] civilians, and entire cities reduced to [08:27] rubber. These are some of the deadliest [08:30] conflicts of our times. Hundreds of [08:32] thousand dead, millions forced to flee, [08:36] mass starvation, ethnic cleansing. [08:38] Compare the public outrage. Where are [08:41] the massive demonstration in Dublin for [08:44] the children of Sudan? Where are the [08:47] Irish musicians cancelling their [08:49] concerts over the killing in Yemen? [08:53] Where is the same anger, the same [08:55] passion, the same sense of moral [08:57] emergency? I could go on, you know, [09:00] Iran, brutal treatments of women, [09:03] Nigeria, but you get the point. So many [09:06] tragedies around the world, so much [09:08] suffering. And yet, when it comes to [09:10] Israel, the outrage in Ireland seems to [09:13] reach a whole different level. Why? What [09:16] is it about Israel that make this [09:18] conflict so personal to so many people [09:20] in Ireland? Only one country is treated [09:23] as Ireland's permanent moral emergency, [09:26] the tiny Jewish state. Right in the [09:29] middle of the war where Israel was [09:31] attacked on seven different fronts right [09:34] after the worst massacre in its history. [09:37] The Irish government joined South [09:39] Africa's absurd lawsuit in the HEG. And [09:43] that wasn't enough. Ireland even asked [09:45] to broaden the legal definition of [09:47] genocide just to make sure Israel get [09:50] trapped in it. Think about the absurdity [09:54] here. Ireland desperately wants to [09:57] convict Israel of genocide, but there is [10:00] a problem. Israel isn't committing [10:03] genocide. The population in Gaza has [10:05] actually grown 10fold since 1948. [10:09] So what does Dublin do? Instead of [10:11] acknowledging reality, they petition the [10:14] court to change the legal definition of [10:17] the crime. When you look at this huge [10:19] gap between the rest of the world and [10:22] Ireland's reaction, you have to ask [10:24] where the hell does this obsession come [10:27] from? To solve this riddle, you need to [10:29] understand one basic psychological rule. [10:32] Ireland doesn't actually care about the [10:36] Palestinians. How can I say that? How [10:38] can I sit here in Israel know what's [10:41] going on inside people heads in Dublin? [10:44] Three words. Let's start with the first [10:46] one. Which country expelled hundreds of [10:50] thousands of Palestinians from its [10:52] territory while nobody in Ireland said a [10:57] single word? [10:59] Kuwait. In which country do Palestinians [11:02] live under actual apartheid banned from [11:05] buying land and barred from dozens of [11:08] professions? Lebanon. And let's say evil [11:13] Israel actually was committing genocide [11:16] in Gaza. Which country borders Gaza [11:19] could have open the gate to save tens of [11:23] thousands of Gazins and refuse to do so? [11:26] Egypt. So let's play along with Irish [11:30] logic for for a second. They don't [11:33] really care about Yemen, Syria, or [11:35] Sudan. Fine. their Irish soul is tied [11:40] exclusively to the faith of the [11:43] Palestinian. If that's really the case, [11:45] how come they don't say a single word [11:48] about Kuwait, Lebanon, or Egypt? Because [11:52] this isn't about Palestinians. When the [11:56] average politician or activist in Dublin [11:59] looks at the Middle East, they couldn't [12:01] care less about the complex reality, the [12:04] history of the region, or the facts on [12:06] the ground. They look out the window and [12:10] see only themselves. The same Irish [12:14] prime minister we open with actually [12:16] said it himself. We see our history in [12:20] their eyes. And here I completely agree [12:24] with him. The Irish see themselves [12:27] first. And I simply want to tear off [12:29] that mask of Irish self-righteousness. [12:32] Modern Irish identity is built on a deep [12:36] justified trauma from centuries under [12:39] the British Empire. Brutal occupation, [12:42] suppression of language and culture, [12:44] stolen lands, and above all the great [12:46] famine of the 19th century. That trauma [12:49] is curved into Ireland's collective DNA. [12:52] And the equation in their head is [12:55] simple. Israel is the strong occupying [12:59] imperialist Britain. The Palestinians [13:02] are the oppressed Irish fighting for [13:04] their freedom. So simple, so stupid. The [13:08] Jews in Israel aren't British Protestant [13:11] settlers sent on ships by a foreign key [13:14] to grab land in Asia or Africa. Zionism [13:19] was never an imperialist project. In [13:22] fact, it is the exact opposite. The [13:24] Jewish people are the indigenous people [13:26] of the land of Israel. Jews lived here, [13:29] spoke Hebrew, created culture, and [13:31] prayed in Jerusalem 2,000 years before [13:34] the Catholic Church ever set foot in [13:38] Ireland. And 2,500 years before anyone [13:42] invented the political term, the [13:44] Palestinian people. The physical, [13:46] historical, religious, and [13:48] archaeological bond between the Jewish [13:50] people and their land cannot be erased. [13:54] If anyone was a colonial force here, it [13:57] is the Islamic conquest. How do we know? [14:01] Let's bring back our world map. You look [14:04] at it and tell me who the colonizers [14:08] are. And while we are looking at the [14:10] map, just so you know, Egypt was Coptic [14:14] before Islamic colonization. Iran was [14:17] Zoroastrian. Syrian was Aramaic. Lebanon [14:20] was Phoenician. The Middle East was [14:23] probably the most multicultural place on [14:26] earth before Islamic colonialism took [14:29] over. But let's talk about the kind of [14:32] colonialism the British actually know. [14:35] The British kind. My grandfather, may he [14:38] rest in peace, fought the British. And [14:41] it was the British army that trained, [14:44] armed, and commanded the army of Trans [14:48] Jordan, today known as Jordan, which [14:50] carried out the single largest massacre [14:53] of Jews during a war of independence, [14:56] the Karion massacre. I talked about that [14:59] in my last video. And the gap isn't just [15:02] about history, it's about values. Here [15:06] is a simple question for all the Irish [15:08] progressive out there. Where do you [15:10] actually find democracy, women's right, [15:13] free speech, and allowing gay people to [15:16] stay alive? In Israel or with your [15:19] bodies in Gaza? So, how do you actually [15:22] explain this Irish obsession? I've spent [15:25] a lot of time thinking about it, and it [15:28] reminded me of another country [15:30] constantly making headlines for being [15:32] anti-Israel, Spain. And there is a big [15:35] common denominator between the two, [15:38] Catholicism. There is another thing [15:40] worth knowing about Ireland. It went [15:43] from being deeply traditionally Catholic [15:46] to being one of the most woke [15:48] progressive countries in the world [15:51] almost overnight. It wasn't a gradual [15:53] transition. As so often in history, when [15:56] a society swings widely from one extreme [15:59] to the other, a massive crisis usually [16:02] triggers it. In Ireland, that crisis [16:05] came when decades of horrific abuse of [16:08] children and women by the Catholic [16:10] Church and the cover up that followed [16:14] finally came to light. Of course, [16:17] massive social shifts happened for many [16:19] reasons. The economic boom of the '9s, [16:22] women's liberation, and the heavy [16:24] influence of American and British media [16:27] from the outside. But I want to focus on [16:30] the religious dimension because that's [16:33] where the real story is. The Catholic [16:35] Church didn't just run the schools or [16:37] dictate moral codes in Ireland. It was [16:40] Irish identity. It was their [16:43] anti-British flag. It ran politics, [16:46] society, daily life. And in literally a [16:49] single generation, Ireland transformed [16:52] from a hyperconservative [16:54] religious country into a secular one. a [16:57] secular country with a brand new [16:59] progressive religion. Ireland didn't [17:02] actually free itself from religion. It [17:05] just swept the cross for a moral [17:08] checklist. The church old methods of [17:11] surveillance, confession, and punishment [17:13] were simply inherited by a ruthless [17:16] cancer culture. We will talk about Ed [17:19] Sharon in just a minute. The priests [17:22] were replaced by Dublin's thought [17:24] police. Anyone who dared question the [17:27] dogma on immigration, gender, or [17:30] national identity is instantly branded a [17:32] heretic. Hit with the exact same social [17:35] shaming that used to cast sinners out [17:38] into the cold. The old worship of [17:41] martyrs was seamlessly transformed to [17:44] the Palestinian cause out of a [17:46] psychological need to relieve their own [17:49] myth of Catholic suffering under the [17:52] British crown. The Palestinian were cast [17:54] as the new Irish, pure innocent victims, [17:58] saints completely stripped from any [18:00] moral responsibility or agency, a modern [18:04] substitute for icons of Jesus and the [18:08] Virgin Mary. And at the very bottom of [18:10] this new theology, Israel was cast as [18:13] the Antichrist. Israel embodies every [18:17] sin imaginable in their eyes. [18:19] Colonialism, borders, national pride, [18:22] and armed western strength. It's a liel [18:25] that fits like a glove over ancient [18:28] Christian tropes about the stubborn Jew [18:32] who refuses to accept the gospel. Now, I [18:35] didn't use the word antichrist slightly, [18:38] but I stand by it. Just look at the [18:40] accusations. It is not just standard [18:43] criticism of military tactics or foreign [18:46] politics. It is absolute cartoonish evil [18:50] genocide, baby killing, deliberate [18:53] starvation. It is modern blood label [18:56] dressed up in human rights terminology. [19:00] In their secular theology, you don't [19:02] just oppose Israel, you exercise it. The [19:05] constant need to condemn the Jewish [19:08] state becomes a cheap way for Dublin's [19:11] elite to feel morally superior. They can [19:15] stand in the streets, shout slogans, and [19:18] feel like they are saving the world [19:20] without ever having to take a serious [19:23] look at themselves. And here is [19:25] something I find especially funny. [19:27] Ireland built so much of its national [19:30] identity around fighting British [19:32] imperialism, but for decades, Ireland [19:36] has also relied on the British Royal Air [19:38] Force for helping protect its own [19:42] airspace. Yes, you heard that right. [19:44] Behind all those speeches about Britain [19:47] imperialism, there is an air defense [19:49] agreement with Britain that was kept [19:52] secret for decades and goes all the way [19:55] back to the 1950s. [19:57] Now, don't get me wrong. I actually [20:00] think former enemies working together is [20:03] a wonderful thing. I wish we had more of [20:06] that here in the Middle East. But when [20:08] you are sitting on an island surrounded [20:11] by fish and the British, the very people [20:14] you love to use as the symbol of [20:16] colonialism, are protecting your skies, [20:19] maybe you should turn down the moral [20:21] lectures a little before telling the [20:24] rest of the world what you think about [20:26] imperialism, colonialism, and justice. [20:30] You are not exactly the heroes you think [20:33] you are. And if you think I'm [20:35] exaggerating when I say some Irish [20:38] people have simply replaced one religion [20:40] with another, take a look at what [20:42] happened in September 2026. American [20:45] rapper McLemore was opening for Ed [20:48] Sherry on his US tour. And in the middle [20:51] of his performance, he started giving a [20:53] speech about Palestine. First of all, [20:57] the nerve of this guy, you are the [21:00] opening act. You are basically like [21:03] there in the background while people [21:05] walk in, find their seats, and grab a [21:08] beer who asked you to turn someone else [21:11] concert into a political rally. Anyway, [21:14] after pressure from stadium owners, the [21:17] tour organizers decided to drop McLemore [21:20] from the remaining shows. Not Ed [21:22] Sharing, the organizers. But back in [21:25] Ireland, people started going after Ed [21:28] Sharing as if the guy had personally [21:31] bombed Gaza. Now, here is the crazy [21:34] part. Ed Shering just wanted to sing. [21:37] That's what singers do. They sing. And [21:40] he's not even a supporter of the war in [21:42] Gaza. He's spoking out against the [21:45] destruction. But that's exactly the [21:48] point in this new religion. Being [21:50] against the war isn't enough. You have [21:53] to pass the loyalty test. Get down on [21:56] your knees and pray free Palestine. [21:59] And if you don't, welcome to the [22:02] Progressive Inquisition. And in Ireland, [22:04] it didn't stop with a few angry comments [22:07] online. Irish musicians pulled out of [22:10] his tour and an Irish radio station even [22:13] announced it would stop playing his [22:16] songs. You see what I mean? In the old [22:19] days, you had to prove you were a good [22:22] Catholic. Today, you have to prove you [22:25] are a good progressive. So maybe Ireland [22:28] really did free itself from the Catholic [22:30] Church. But did it get rid of some of [22:33] the old habits? I'm not so sure. Will [22:36] this video change the minds of the [22:38] progressive establishment? Of course [22:41] not. This video is based on facts and [22:44] their obsession with Israel isn't [22:46] rational. It's their religion, their [22:49] identity, and nobody swaps their [22:51] religion because of a YouTube video made [22:54] by some Israeli guy with an accent and a [22:58] Wisconsin t-shirt. But you need to [23:01] understand where this is heading. This [23:03] obsession won't stop with Israel. The [23:06] bizarre alliance between woke, [23:08] progressive, and Islamist isn't just [23:11] targeting the Jewish state. In its core, [23:14] it is anti-western. It is hostile to [23:17] free speech, hostile to your national [23:19] sovereignty and hostile to every single [23:22] value that build the free world. Today [23:26] the target is Israel. Tomorrow it is [23:29] Ireland. That's it for today. My next [23:31] videos will cover two subjects you don't [23:34] hear much about in Ireland's progressive [23:36] circles. Slavery and colonialism in the [23:40] Arab and Muslim world. And if you find [23:42] my videos valuable, please consider [23:45] supporting my work. You can support me [23:47] directly on coffee or you can buy my [23:50] Jerusalem course. That way you would be [23:53] supporting the channel and getting a [23:56] little smarter at the same time. Not a [23:58] bad deal, right? And don't forget to [24:01] send this video to your favorite Irish [24:04] person. See you in the next video. [24:06] Yalabai.
