Can anyone overturn what God has blessed? In this week’s Torah portion, Parashat Balak, we read the remarkable story of Balak and Balaam. A king seeks to curse Israel, a prophet is confronted by his own donkey, and every attempt to speak destruction over God’s people is turned into blessing. But hidden within this dramatic portion is also a powerful prophecy: “A Star shall come out of Jacob” (Numbers 24:17)—a prophetic picture pointing us toward Yeshua, the promised King of Israel. Parashat Balak also carries a serious warning. When Israel could not be defeated through external opposition, compromise from within became the greater danger. Join Pastor Israel as we explore Numbers 22:2–25:9 and discover what this Torah portion teaches us about God’s faithfulness, spiritual discernment, the danger of compromise, and the promises of God that cannot be overturned. In this teaching: • Why Balak feared the people of Israel • The spiritual blindness of Balaam • How God turned curses into blessings • The Star from Jacob and the promise of Yeshua • The danger of compromise at Baal Peor • Why God’s people are called to remain faithful No human scheme can stop the purposes of God. What He has spoken, He is faithful to fulfill.
