“I Am the Resurrection and the Life”
(John 11:25)
On May 7, 2020 we celebrated the 3-year anniversary of my late husband David Davis’ homegoing. I was so blessed to honor his legacy that day by releasing this beautiful new lyric video of “I Am the Resurrection and the Life,” produced by our son David Potter Davis. This song, taken from my new album “Songs of Eternity,” is the only song my husband David and I ever wrote together. One day many years ago, as I was playing my keyboard in our living room, the Spirit of the Lord drew David to come out of his prayer room study. As soon as he entered the living room, he immediately starting singing this powerful verse from John 11:25 with a new melody over the chords I was playing! He had never done that before!
I then notated the music chart for it, but for years forgot about the song, until a few days after we received his cancer diagnosis, I suddenly woke up one morning with the whole song in my spirit. I quickly searched and found the music chart and the song become my prayer for healing over him throughout the eighteen months of his illness. Truly Lord has “loosed him and let him go” and David is now seeing the glory of the Lord!
Today we often use this song in our intercessory worship watches at Kehilat HaCarmel as a prayer for resurrection life for the “dry bones” of the house of Israel (Ezek. 37), that as the Lord breathes upon them, it will be “life from the dead” (Rom. 11:15).
As the founder of House of Victory and Carmel Congregation, birthed in our home there, how blessed David would be today, to see the multiplied fruit of his vision and labor of love coming forth through the transformed lives of Jews and Arabs who are now walking in resurrection life.
“Unless a grain of wheat falls in the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies it produces much grain” (John 12:24).
