The United Kingdom has been battered by severe winter storms since late 2015 and early into the New Year. Storms Desmond and Eva have brought serious flooding and devastation with some areas experiencing worse destruction than others. The Israeli Humanitarian Aid Agency known as IsraAID has sent volunteers into the north of England where they have already been able to help repair homes and donate much needed food and blankets in Leeds where over 1000 homes were flooded.
IsraAID has had plenty of experience in helping communities around the world; having responded to tornados, earthquakes and floods in the years since the organization was founded by Shachar Zahavi, the director. He felt that the situation in Britain was really severe and warranted intervention. He has more volunteers on standby to help out as necessary. You can read more about the story here.
