Disgusting: U.N. rapporteur on counterterrorism Ben Saul condemns Israel for waging a “vengeful war” against Hamas: “Hamas invaded Israel for 48 hours, and then was repulsed. Israel was going to be fine...”

Writing in The Telegraph, Dr. Alice Jill Edwards, the former UN special rapporteur on torture, just denounced her colleagues Francesca Albanese and Reem Alsalem for denying the October 7 atrocities and ignoring Hamas torture of Israeli hostages: “My colleagues said nothing. I felt ashamed. Great honor to meet with the President of the State of Israel, @isaacherzog. 🇮🇱 I was there on October 7th with an incredible group of Christian leaders oranized by @fozmuseum.official . President Herzog spoke eloquently. He recalled how his grandfather Chief Rabbi Isaac Halevi Herzog, tried to save Jews during the Holocaust, and how his father Chaim Herzog, who would later become Israel’s President, was a British military officer who liberated the Bergen Belsen concentration camp. By contrast, Israel today is a strong and revived nation, a beautiful and successful country, with incredible young people who defend their nation, drive innovation in every field of science and technology, and build new families with a vision for peace and prosperity. CLASH AT THE UN: George Katrougalos, chair of the committee overseeing all UN human rights experts, absurdly called UN Watch a “champion of antisemitism” after Hillel Neuer challenged Katrougalous for accepting a $100,000 donation from China and then fully omitting China's victims from his latest report. China also lashed out at UN Watch, saying that Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong are “purely China's internal affairs.” ___ Neuer's speech: ”Mr. President, Thank you for allowing us to pose several questions to the Expert. Mr. Katrougalos, your report mentions China 33 times. At page 9, you say China is a ‘central actor’ defending international order; Xi Jinping is the ‘new guardian of global rules for free trade’; and Chinese discourse ‘closely aligns’ with the UN Charter and ‘peaceful co-existence.’ At page 10, you recite numerous Chinese initiatives, that contribute, and I quote, ‘to the enjoyment of alll human rights.’ Mr. Katrougalos, we ask: if your report is truly about human rights, then where are China’s victims? Where are the million Uyghurs subjected to mass detention, forced labour, and religious persecution? Where are the Tibetans whose culture, language and religion Beijing systematically crushes? Where are Hong Kong’s imprisoned democracy activists, such as 78-year-old Jimmy Lai? Where are the human rights lawyers, journalists, dissidents, and religious minorities jailed across China? Where is Beijing’s mass censorship? Its surveillance state? Its threats against Taiwan? Mr. Katrougalos, one fifth of humanity are denied free elections, free speech and basic political rights. Why does none of this appear in your account of China’s contribution to a ‘democratic and equitable’ world order? Now, you also chair the UN committee overseeing all human rights experts — and the UN disclosed that China chose to donate $100,000 to your mandate. Why did Beijing choose you? What exactly did its money finance? Did it support this report? Who funded your two trips to China, mentioned on Page 2? Will you acknowledge that such funding creates a conflict? Will you commit today that all China’s money will be returned?”

Former UN rights chief Navi Pillay was just awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize “for her efforts to promote peace and international law,” despite turning a blind eye to gross human rights abuses by the world’s most oppressive regimes and leading a false genocide claim against Israel.   Unsurprisingly, Hamas celebrated the Norwegian Nobel Committee’s decision to award Pillay.   Some examples of Pillay’s long and troubling record include: • Handing dissidents’ names to China, despite warnings about the danger to them and their families. • Defending her fellow commissioner Miloon Kothari after he railed against “the Jewish lobby” and questioned Israel’s right to be a member state of the UN. • In 2012, Pillay called the cartoons in France’s satirical paper Charlie Hebdo “malicious and deliberately provocative” after they featured caricatures of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. • In 2010, Pillay notoriously refused to attend Chinese political prisoner Liu Xiaobo’s Nobel Peace Price ceremony due to pressure from China, as reported by Foreign Policy. Surely, the first principle must be: ‘Do no harm.’ Yesterday, UN Watch released its report card on UNRWA reform, testing the agency’s claims against the evidence. UNRWA says it fulfilled 41 of the 50 reforms recommended by the Colonna Review. But what is the reality in UNRWA’s classrooms? According to a December 8th, 2025 report in the New York Times, 24 employees at 24 different UNRWA schools, mostly principals and deputy principals, were Hamas or Islamic Jihad terrorists. Will the UN and this Council demand an investigation into the UNRWA leaders who oversaw the hiring of terrorist commanders to run the schools and brainwash generations of Palestinians with incitement, hate, racism and holy war? We ask: Who will be held accountable? I thank you.”

On this day three years ago, I ran to a bomb shelter as Hamas attacked. I predicted how the UN would do nothing until Israel responded—and then accuse Israel of war crimes and racism. But I failed to imagine that they would declare “genocide” and fuel a global tsunami of Jew hatred.

UN Watch sparked international condemnation and forced a rare apology from Francesca Albanese after exposing her claims that Jews in Nazi death camps “were called Muslims” and that antisemitism targets “Semitic peoples,” not just Jews.   We are calling on all UN member states to denounce Albanese’s distortion of antisemitism and the Holocaust.

BREAKING: Israel's leader met UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi today. 🇦🇪🇮🇱 No one could ever have imagined it, but the United Arab Emirates is now more friendly to Israel than the UK, Canada, or Australia.
