In the days of Noah the level of humanity’s consciousness and imaginations had fallen to the level of Hamas- (Genesis 8:11)- the Hebrew word for violence and deceit. “Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence (hamas). God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.” There were none left innocent, all contaminated, old and young. The flood would cover all.
One man and his family “found grace in the sight of God”- Noah. Even he was called ‘righteous’- as compared to his corrupt generation (see his later behavior). He, though scoffed and mocked, would be obedient to the task directed him by the Creator.
Today, once again Hamas has filled the Earth. Even little children are being corrupted by their elders, confused in their sexual identity, filled with pornography easily accessed on their smartphones, and encouraged to turn from the ways of innocence given by the Creator. The spreading tentacles of deceit are all connected to the head of corruption, but the serpent of Evil has many heads.
The horrific outrage we have just witnessed from the genocidal Hamas terror organization in Gaza has been long brewing, nurtured from the womb by parents devoutly promoting and grooming in their children the hatred from a loveless Deity of Darkness. The despicable acts are even being celebrated from the streets of Gaza to those in many cities around the world. “We are all Hamas!” they chant, “Itbach al Yehud! (slaughter the Jews).” But now the Jews have had quite enough of that, having heard that chant before, do not sit quietly on their hands.
“There is none righteous, no not one” (Psalm 14:1-3) is a frightful state of being for humanity. But for the promises of the God of Israel, and the merciful staying and pierced hands of that righteous crucified Jew reaching out in love to all, seeking to take upon Himself our pollutions and guilt in exchange for His innocence, there are none innocent before the Throne of judgement- as in the days of Noah.
