Blow the shofar (trumpet) in Zion

Blow a trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn gathering. – Joel 2:15

We are now in the season of the Fall Feasts of YHVH, with Yom HaTeruah or the Feast of Shofars (Leviticus 23:23) being celebrated over the last 2 days. I believe there is a strong connection with the Feast of Trumpets and the Rapture that I will share with you here.

The Feast of Shofar Blowing as the Hebrew calls it, began on Wednesday evening this past week. More commonly the day is referred to as Rosh HaShana, the Head of the Year or the New Year. In my desire to be a BC (Biblically Correct) person and not a PC (Politically Correct) person I am not interested in celebrating the New Year at this time. According to the Biblical instruction we are to have a holy convocation on the 1st day of the 7th month.

Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a Sabbath rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. – Leviticus 23:24

How can the 1st day of the 7th month be the New Year? Furthermore the LORD says that Passover time in April is the beginning of the year for Israel.

This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you. – Exodus 12:2

I was never one to follow traditions for the sake of tradition. I would rather follow the instructions and the calendar of the Creator.

I believe that one of the reasons the Feast of Shofar Blowing (Yom HaTeruah) has been celebrated as Rosh HaShana for much of the time since the Resurrection of Yeshua, is that the enemy wants to conceal or mask the true relevance of this Holy Feast of the LORD. Concerning these Feasts, most people refer to them as ‘Jewish Feasts,’ however in the Scriptures YHVH calls them His Moedim in Hebrew, which is translated as ‘His appointed times.’ We believe that the Feasts of YHVH prophetically show the pattern of His plan of redemption for Israel, and for everyone who is grafted into Israel (Romans 11:17) by the Blood of Yeshua, to form the One New Man of Ephesians 2:15. Every major New Testament event thus far, has been precisely fulfilled on a Biblical Feast day. Four of the seven have been fulfilled and there are yet to be fulfilled. The next event we are waiting for is the Rapture, or the catching away of the Body of Messiah, which we believe will occur on Yom HaTeruah or the Feast of Shofar blowing

I know there are people out there who do not believe in the Rapture, but I see it clearly in scripture. (1 Thessalonians 4:16) As I wrote above, we and many other Bible teachers who have a degree of understanding about the relevance of the Feasts, believe that the Rapture will occur on the Feast of Trumpets (when you hear the last trumpet – the trumpet of God and the shout of the Arch-angel). We don’ know the year, but I believe we can know the day by knowing about the Feasts. That is why we recommend you do take the time to study the Feasts of the Lord. There are a number of good resources for learning about the Feasts – you can find them through Google or on YouTube.

The simple way to celebrate Yom HaTeruah or the Feast of Shofars is to gather together with family and other Believers for a Holy convocation, thank the Lord for His amazing redemption plan and for sending Yeshua to be our personal Redeemer, and for the soon return of Yeshua to set up the Kingdom of GOD in Jerusalem. Read the Scriptures. Pray, blow the Shofar of course, and share some good food together, and most importantly be sure that we are ready, and all who are dear to us are ready, for that awesome Yom HaTeruah when YHVH blows His Shofar and we all rise up to meet Yeshua in the air.
