Captain Dr. Ori Yosef Silvester z״l, a physician serving in the Givati Brigade’s Shaked Battalion, fell this June in southern Lebanon. Yesterday, his family visited The Jewish Agency’s New York office to share his story, honor his memory, and reflect on the lasting impact he had on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Before returning to his service, Ori joined a Jewish Agency Shlichim in Uniform mission to the Jewish community in Howard County, Maryland. There, he formed meaningful connections and spoke about how deeply moved he was by the love and support he felt from Jews thousands of miles away. “Now my mission in the army is even more meaningful,” he shared. Ori’s legacy lives on through the connections he made, the lives he touched, and the communities that continue to carry his memory forward. We will always remember Ori. We will always honor his life and legacy. And we will continue strengthening the bonds between Israel and Jewish communities around the world that meant so much to him.

Three years have passed since October 7th. This week, in Israel and in Jewish communities around the world, we remember the lives taken and stand with the families and communities who were forever changed. This year, for the first time, every hostage, living and deceased, is home. The grief remains, and so does our commitment to remember, support, and rebuild. The Kalanit (red anemone) sticker, designed by Lia Naiditch for The Jewish Agency for Israel, unites us in shared memory and hope. We will never forget.

A summer at camp can create connections that last a lifetime ☀️🇮🇱 For Israeli teens impacted by the war, Campers2Gether provides an opportunity to step away from the uncertainty back home, build friendships, and connect with Jewish teens from across North America and around the world. Danny Mishkin, founder of Sababa Beach Camps, has seen the impact firsthand: “This connection with Israel is the strongest one I’ve seen teens have.” Learn more about Campers2Gether and its impact: https://lnkd.in/e_Jqsgxn
