Hanukkah, also known as The Festival of Lights, commemorates a time when the Jews took possession of Jerusalem from the Greeks and found a tiny flask of oil that miraculously stayed lit for 8 nights. It is a holiday that reminds us to put our hope and trust in an awesome and powerful God.
Several days before the start of the Hanukkah holiday, the Agape Distribution Center* distributed food packages along with special gift bags to families in need. This Hanukkah gift package included items like socks, underwear, laundry detergent, baby clothes and soap, as well as food items like tea, coffee, jam and chocolate spread. In addition to giving bags we distributed Bibles in Hebrew, Arabic and Russian, had many great conversations with people and ate traditional Hanukkah sufganiyot (Seasonal Donuts). It was a wonderful opportunity to bless the least of these in our community and spread joy during the holiday season.
Please pray that God would continue to bless our ministry to the poor in our community, providing us with food and clothing to bless them physically and compassionate, tender hearts to minister to them spiritually!
